BOARD MEMBER REQUIREMENTS
1. Attend a board orientation conducted by the agency staff or other
assigned person
within 90 days of his or her election;
2. Study the Agency Bylaws and Policies and Procedures so that you can be
an
effective member of the Board;
3. Attend and/or assist with at least two (2) functions for volunteers
and clients during
the fiscal year;
4. Attend monthly board meetings during the fiscal year and be an active
participant in
discussions;
5. Attend, and actively participate in, at least one (1) fundraising
event during the fiscal year
performing duties as assigned;
6. Take an active role on at least one (1) of the standing committees of
the board in
order to implement the immediate and long-range goals and
objectives of the
Agency;
7. Serve on ad hoc committees as needed and assigned;
8. Assist in raising funds for the Agency other than organized fund-raisers;
9. Participate in recruitment of qualified persons possessing the needed
skills and
experience to fill vacancies on the Board of Directors, and;
10. Participate in recruitment of volunteers throughout the year.
